Prayers for Lisa

My mother-in-law, Lisa, was diagnosed with Uteran Cancer a couple of weeks ago. I did not blog about it right away because I did not know how to put things into words and I wanted to have more info.

Today she had a hysterectomy and we found out the best news. It should be completly gone. She will likely not need any further treatment (they are just waiting for a final report to confirm what they believe).

We are so thankful to God for listen to our prayers and protecting her through the whole thing. She still needs your prayers to insure that the rest of her recovery is a smooth. Please pray for that and good test results.

In order to . . .

In order to get the refrigerator cleaned, I allowed Grace a little extra independence. The result was not disastrous, just a big mess. She quickly found the craft cupboard and pulled just a few things out. Unfortunately, they were the things with many pieces.

It was worth it though. My fridge looks great and I did not that long to clean up the mess. Plus she had fun exploring and sometimes that is in order too.

Getting Bigger

I am not "sad" that Caroline is getting bigger. It just seems strange that she can do some things. She is in a sports camp right now. And it is really fun to watch. But not so long ago she needed my help just to stand.

I wonder what it is like for my parents to seem me as a mother; to see me buy and manage my own home. I know that I get sucked into making my kids younger than they are and they are not that old.

I love every stage that they are in (although I could stand for Grace to be a bit less courageous on the playground) but I do miss it a little when the move on.

Kris and I were talking the other day that Grace seems to be going faster than Caroline and we do not like it. Knowing she is our last baby, we wanted her to go at our pace a little more.

Oh well, just another lesson for Mom and Dad. You cannot change or your children getting bigger. You can just enjoy the ride.

Happy Father's Day

To my husband Kris

Thank you so much for our girls. They are such a blessing. You are a wonderful father. The girls are blessed to have you. I know that I do not always let you be the father you want to be. For that I am sorry, I will try to get out of the way more so that you can do your own thing with them. And I should because they love being around you.

One of my favorite times of day is when you come home. Not only am I happy to see you, but watching the girls run down the hall to give you a hug is so wonderful. I love how you are with them and how they are with you. It is a very relaxed and natural relationship.

Thanks for being such a good Dad.

Love Linda

Happy Summer

WE officially started summer at our house yesterday. The pool made its first appearance. Grace had never seen one before and was not so sure. But once she got in, she was pretty happy. As you can see, they were having so much fun there was no time for Mom to take pictures.

Always So Cute ?!?

This first picture is how Caroline and Grace spent Friday morning. They can be so happy just hanging out together. They sat like that for more than an half an hour. It really makes Grace's day when Caroline hangs out with her.

And this picture is of my beautiful daughter. She has such amazing manners when it comes to eating. She feels it would be rude to not eat all her candy, so she at it call at once. It might be that or it might be she was eating it quickly so she would not have to share with her sister. (Thanks for the picture Dad)

Good-Bye

I am working on saying good-bye to my godmother and aunt.

Nancy Moe (Roger's ex-wife) died over last weekend. It was an accident and very unexpected. It has been one of those things that is haunting and hard to get out of your mind.

I am so sorry for her children; Dean, Amy and Jenny. To have something so sad happen so unexpectedly is really overwhelming. I hope that they can find their way through this. My prayers remain with them.

I believe that Nancy is happy now and will be waiting for those that she loves to join her someday. I think that she was want us to remember her but keep on going.

Love you Nancy, we will miss you.

Thank You

I have to send out a HUGE thank you.

I wish I knew the name and address of this man. But he is the really nice man who changed my flat tire for me on I-94. He and his wife noticed that I was alone with the girls on the interstate and stopped to get me on my way.

He was so nice. He was relaxed and that helped calm me. He never made me feel like he was being put out. I could not appreciate his help more than I already do.

Unfortunatly, I was a little caught up in my own head. As a result, I never got a name or found out where he was from. I know that he works highway construction and is a volunteer fireman.

Regardless, Thank You. And since I cannot tell you in person, I will try to be extra vigilant in doing good things for others.
