This is one of those weekends that I look forward to all year. We are headed to Duluth with the whole Rasmusson family.

So I just wanted to wish you all a great weekend. Enjoy the long weekend with your family.

Squirrel

We had some great entertainment last night. All through supper, a squirrel was running back and forth past our window.

First it would just run past. Then about 2 mins later it would run back the other way with at least 8 acorns in his mouth. He did this for at least 25 mins. It was such a hoot. The kids got into it and were so excited when they spotted him. And we were all amazed at how much he could carry.

I loved how we enjoyed something so simple. These are the kind of moments I treasure as a mother and wife.

Princess Caroline

Last weekend, Caroline and I went with my sister Ruth to look for her wedding dress. It was a great day. We saw many great dresses and even found THE dress. It will be great.

The fun part for Caroline is that she got to try on dresses too. We found a few that we liked and a couple that may be perfect. But beyond that, she was a really good girl. It was a long time for a 4 year old to hang out with grown ups. And she never complained or whined one time. Even the shop owners marveled at her.

So, I thought that I would share some pictures of the ones that we liked.

She looks so pretty and so grown up. Sometimes it catches me off guard.

Gotta Love Cabins

It is really nice to have great friends who share wonderful places with us. We spent last weekend at the cabin of our friends the Hakalas.

It is in Chisholm, MN and really nice. We had a great time with them and our friends the McDonalds. Between all the kids (7) and the dogs (3) and all the adults (6), we were busy and had a blast.

Caroline fell in love with fishing and spent as much time as she could on the dock doing that. She swam and tubed but fishing was the highlight.

Grace could have ridden in the boat the whole time. She had a blast watching people fall off the tube. She also got to swim until she said it was time to be done. And that took all day.

Kris was trying to be king of the tube and did manage to push of the older kids a few times.

I just enjoyed watching the whole scene and being by the water.I love the water and could be there much more often.

Thank you for the invitation. We loved being there an being with friends. It sure made us think about finding a place like that of our own.

A Great Weekend

Occasionally you have weekends that are just really good. And this past weekend was like that for me.

On Friday, my Uncle Chester for California came for the night. He wanted to stop by and hang out between driving from my parents up North to his son's in Nashville, TN. It was really fun to have him. We just talked and ate and enjoyed each other's company. Ruth and Carl came out too. I was a great night. The only problem is that I forgot to take a picture of the visit.

My favorite pic - Kennedy, Amber and Caroline sharing some frozen strawberry lemonade.

Saturday after Kris left for a day-long Mobile Photo Booth Event, we got ready and went to the Dakota County Fair with some friends. We were there from 11 to 4. The kids has a blast. We ate (of course), rode a couple of rides, and looked at some exhibits. We just relaxed and had fun. We had so much fun that Grace did not get up until after 9 on Sun morning.

The big girls were having a blast together and would occasionally play with Grace. But the Bee ride was not one of those times. They had to ride together so I had to ride with Grace.
The pony ride is always a big hit. My girls love it and (as I am told) they can do it all by themselves.

Then Sunday was just a super relaxing day. We were so mellow in the morning. We just hung around and were a family. The we had a picnic at a park. After nap, we went for a drive them played outside. It was really a great day.

I hope that you had a great time too.

Guess Who is 34!!

It is Kris's birthday today. He is turning 34 and could not be better.

I am proud of him in many ways. And I want to talk about a couple but will not get into them all.

One is that he is dedicated. He show this with me and the girls and in his commitment to losing weight (over 100 pounds).

Another is his drive for success. I can see this in not only his full-time job but in the Mobile Photo Booth. And of course, he works on being a good Husband and Father daily.

But the best one is that he loves us. He shows it everyday, even when he thinks he is not. All 3 of us would be lost without his love.

So Happy Birthday Babe. We love you.

Why Wisconsin??

It seems that everyone that I know is moving to Wisconsin. I have 2 good friends that are going to be in their new homes by Monday. Both are going to Wausau (or a suburb of) and I wish they were not going.

I pray that all goes well for them and that they will be blessed and happy. But I wish they were still here.

Good luck Heather and Holly!!!
