Special Time

Since Grace has been in her big girl bed,she has needed some extra help getting to sleep. I have had to lay down with her until she goes to sleep. On most days, that is about 15 mins.

At first, I found it rather annoying. I have things to do. And I would get stressed out thinking about it.

But the other day, Caroline decided that she was going to lay down going to lay down with us too. She lays still and cuddles until Grace falls asleep. And I became overwhelmed with a feeling a peace and blessings. I am a lucky woman who gets to spend a lot of time with her kids. And I get to enjoy everything, including the peacefulness of them when they are asleep.

I now thank God everyday that I get the chance to lay down and enjoy my girls.

Someone Special Turned 2

Saturday was Gracie's birthday. It was a really fun. The ages of the girls are really fun. They understand what a birthday party is and have a great time with it.

We started the morning with pancakes and eggs (Grace loves those). Then we went out and about and ended up at Applebees for lunch. We went there because they make a fuss for birthdays and we wanted to do that.

Then in the evening, we had her friends over for a party. It was great. There were around 25 people here with 11 of those kids all but one 5 or under. It was loud, messy and a ton of fun.

Grace was so excited that when he woke up from her nap (at 3:45) she started sitting at the table waiting for her party to start. It was a Little Einsteins themed party. She loved that a ton too.
Thanks to everyone for making her birthday great.

It really is Tuesday

I have been having a hard time remembering what day it is all day. We had a quick trip to a hotel on Sat and Kris had the day off yesterday so I cannot get my head around the fact that it really is Tuesday.

So in case you are struggling today as well. It really is Tuesday.

Copy Cats

Yesterday, Caroline got into some stickers and I thought it was pretty funny. I laughed and took a picture. About ten minutes later, Grace walked up to me laughing. So, to be fair, I laughed and took a picture.

Then today, the girls had their friend Amber over and everyone had to do what Caroline was doing. Caroline was not always happy about it. She was especially mad when she had to share her chair.

Oh, it is so hard to be the oldest!!!

Amazing Sights

The last few days have brought me some amazing sights. I thought that I should share them with you.

This morning while making breakfast, I looked out my kitchen window and saw this Cardnil all puffed up in the cold. It was really cool. I has not seen one at our house during the winter before. He was really pretty and quite patient. I had to get my camera and take multiple pictures before I got one that worked.

The other day Grace would not take a nap. So I gave up trying and let them watch a movie so that she would at least rest. After about 20 mns, Caroline comes in a tells me she is sleeping. I did not believe her, so I went to look and this is what I found. Poor kid must have had a fairly stiff neck even after I rearranged her a little.

I thought that this was the most amazing sight of all. On Tuesday I had a Mary Kay Lipstick Party. It was a great time. My girlfriends and I tried on all sorts of pretty shades. But Kris and Caleb were the prettiest of all. ;-)
Happy Valentine's Day

Cool Book Idea

Have you ever wondered what you are going to do with a book when you were done reading it? Sometimes you want to keep it and othertimes you liked it but you know that you will never read it again.

Well I have just heard a great idea for what do with books. At http://www.bookcrossing.com/, you learn how to Read it, Register it, and Release it.

After you read a book, you register it and get a tag number. Then take it somewhere and leave it. Let a stranger pick it up and read it. They then can rate it on the website and you get to see where your book has gone.

I just thought this was such a fun and original idea. What a great way to spread a book around.

It's cool to Caucus

I just came home from my MN Caucus. What an exciting night it was.

We had to delay the start of the meeting because there were at least 500 people lined up out the door. I am having a hard time finding the words to describe how exciting it is to see the sleeping apathetic mass come alive.

I had been afraid that the election starting so early would mean that people would be burned out too early. But I think that the energy is doing just the opposite. I think that people just keep getting more and more energized.

If you have not gotten involved yet, find a way to pick someone. MPR (Minnesota Public Radio) has a really cool way of finding out which candidate lines up with you the best. It is like a quiz, where you answer questions about certain issues and then rank how important it is to you. It reinforced my belief in Hillary Clinton and it suprised some others.

The web address is http://minnesota.publicradio.org/projects/ongoing/select_a_candidate/poll.php?race_id=13

Get involved, feel the energy, believe in the process. America is worth it and ready for a change.
